Extracting tables from PDF statements
Vendor invoices and bank PDFs often need Excel for VLOOKUP against PO lines. Conversion works best on digital PDFs with selectable text — scanned images may need OCR elsewhere first.

Spot-check totals and row counts against the PDF. Multi-page tables occasionally split across sheets; reconcile before posting to GL.

Why are some numbers in separate columns?
PDF layout heuristics infer columns from spacing. Adjust in Excel before import if currency symbols detached from amounts.
